Greg Kemp has owned My Handyman of Ann Arbor, Saline, and Chelsea since 2012. Greg holds a Michigan Residential Builder’s License and has more than thirty years’ experience in customer service related industries. Greg is very passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience starting with always being available to employing highly skilled, background checked, professional, presentable, and personable Technicians. Greg’s goal is for My Handyman to be your one-stop shop, whether it be a simple task like drywall repair or painting to more complex projects like a bathroom remodel or finishing a basement.
Greg is originally from Texas, where he met his wife Mollie, a fourth generation Ann Arborite. After four years in Phoenix, Mollie convinced Greg to move to Michigan to start a family. Mollie works for Dexter Community Schools and they have two beautiful children.
Blayne TaborOperations Manager
Blayne joined our team in 2014 as a Customer Service Representative and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2019. Blayne is responsible for keeping the operation running smoothly, so the right Technicians are in the right place at the right time. Blayne is originally from the Grand Rapids area where he was employed for two years as an Apprentice Electrician before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served five years including two tours in Afghanistan. Blayne’s wife is a teacher at Huron High School and they have two very energetic daughters.
Mark HergenrederCustomer Service Representative
If you grew up in the Ann Arbor area, you probably encountered Mark around the time of your high school graduation. Mark retired from a long career with Josten’s in 2018 and ran out of projects around the house, so he works for us part time as a Customer Service Representative. Mark spends the rest of his time hunting & fishing, travelling, and supporting local conservation efforts. Our customer’s enjoy Mark’s outgoing and friendly personality.
Bob ReidService Technician
Bob has spent many years in the trades in Southeast Michigan. He is a true craftsman, able to take on any task we throw his way. Bob especially enjoys trim carpentry and carpentry. Bob’s customers frequently expand their jobs after getting familiar with his work.
Brad WoodService Technician
Brad has had a hammer in his hand since he was in high school. He has owned construction and drywall companies in the past and is a very talented drywall finisher. Brad pays attention to detail, resulting in many of his customers adding more work and requesting him for future work. Brad’s many years in the trades has given him exposure and experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, exterior trim, and much, much more.
Brian TaylorService Technician
Brian is our original Technician. Brian has more than 30 years paid experience and earned his Michigan Residential Builder’s License in 1980. Brian is a self-taught carpenter and takes great pride in the quality of his work. Brian has held positions from apartment maintenance to modular structures technician to owning his own home improvement company. Brian likes to brag about building the first SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) house in the State of Michigan. Whether it be carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall, tile, decks, hardwood floors, laminate floors, or general maintenance and repair, Brian can do it all. Brian’s favorite skill is trim carpentry. He has the talent and takes the time to make sure every joint and corner is tight and does not require caulk. You can find several photos of his work on this site.
Craig EvansService Technician
Craig has been an independent carpenter and handyman around the area for more than 30 years. Craig’s expertise is plumbing and electrical, but can do just about anything we give him. Craig is always our “go-to” guy when we have a task none of his fellow team members are comfortable with. Craig’s straight-forward and down to earth personality has many of our customers requesting him personally.
Loren TyraService Technician
Loren is a very friendly and outgoing Technician and has many customers request him personally. Loren grew up in the Ann Arbor areas and has been in the maintenance/repair and construction industry his entire adult life. Loren is a true problem-solver and is always up for any challenge.
Mike MadejaService Technician
Mike has more than 25 years in the trades. He has held positions of door and window installer, remodeler, commercial construction, and has owned a construction company. His strength is carpentry, but he is very capable with drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, tile, and flooring. We love Mike because he can do everything and do it well. Our customers love Mike because he is very personable and takes the time to listen and understand their needs and deliver positive results.
