Greg Kemp has owned My Handyman of Ann Arbor, Saline, and Chelsea since 2012. Greg holds a Michigan Residential Builder’s License and has more than thirty years’ experience in customer service related industries. Greg is very passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience starting with always being available to employing highly skilled, background checked, professional, presentable, and personable Technicians. Greg’s goal is for My Handyman to be your one-stop shop, whether it be a simple task like drywall repair or painting to more complex projects like a bathroom remodel or finishing a basement. Greg is originally from Texas, where he met his wife Mollie, a fourth generation Ann Arborite. After four years in Phoenix, Mollie convinced Greg to move to Michigan to start a family. Mollie works for Dexter Community Schools and they have two beautiful children.
BlayneCustomer Service Representative
Blayne is our Customer Service Representative or “The Voice of My Handyman”. Blayne is originally from the Grand Rapids area where he was employed for two years as an Apprentice Electrician. Blayne then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served five years including two tours in Afghanistan. Blayne’s experience on a Combat Medical Unit lead to his pursuit of becoming a nurse. Blayne is enrolled in the University of Michigan/ Washtenaw County Community College nursing program.
Brian is one our original Technicians. Brian has more than 30 years paid experience and earned his Michigan Residential Builder’s License in 1980. Brian is a self-taught carpenter and takes great pride in the quality of his work. Brian has held positions from apartment maintenance to modular structures technician to owning his own home improvement company. Brian likes to brag about building the first SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) house in the State of Michigan. Whether it be carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall, tile, decks, hardwood floors, laminate floors, or general maintenance and repair, Brian can do it all. Brian’s favorite skill is trim carpentry. He has the talent and takes the time to make sure every joint and corner is tight and does not require caulk. You can find several photos of his work on this site.
Matt has more than 25 years paid experience in the trades. Matt grew up in the area and attended Ferris State University and studied Construction Management. He spent 8 years doing custom trim work and 7 years in the commercial building trades. Matt enjoys commercial projects, drywall, trim carpentry, carpentry, installing new doors, kitchen and bath remodels, hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, building decks, and exterior trim.
Ray is a very well rounded Technician with more than 25 years paid experience. In his younger days he worked on the crew of his father’s tile company. A few years later he turned the tables and opened his own tile company and hired his dad to work for him. Ray eventually started his own painting and drywall business and reaped the benefits of the building boom for eight years until the recession hit Michigan and he closed his doors. Ray went on to positions of warranty supervisor for a manufactured home company and ten years as a brick layer building commercial and government buildings. Ray’s friendly and outgoing personality make him a favorite with our customers. Ray’s skills include painting, drywall, masonry, decks, general carpentry, hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, and maintenance and repair.
